Tina McDonald
Group Head of Music & Performing Arts
We caught up with Tina McDonald, Head of Music & Performing Arts at NSCG to chat about her career history, inspirations and advice for those entering the Performing Arts world...
Q: How did you get in to the Performing Arts?
A: At the age of 11, my young neighbour came home one day and started tap dancing in her driveway on an old wooden door her Dad had put down on the floor as he was doing some DIY. It looked like great fun and she asked If I wanted to go to a dance class with her the following week. I said ‘yes’ and from that moment, I fell in love! After then, I quickly started to have ballet, tap, modern and disco lessons and the rest is history!

Claire Herbert
Performing Arts and Music Co-ordinator
Hi!
I’m Claire Herbert and I’m the Co-ordinator for Music & Performing Arts at Stafford College.
I have taught Music Performance and Technology for 16 years, specialising in experimental composition, acoustics and research methodologies.
I am proud to have been the first female to achieve the MSc Music Technology qualification from Staffordshire University and my dissertation was on teaching and learning within recording studio environments, which I am passionate about.
I play the piano and flute, but also dabble in guitar and cello. My experimental compositions have been featured in a range of exhibitions in the local area.
